Nicholas’s decision to run for the Union Township Board of Education is grounded in the principle of “Service Above Self.”
He believes in putting the needs and well-being of students, families, and educators before personal interests — and in delivering results, not engaging in needlessly divisive politics.
Budgeting Responsibly & Protecting Our Students
Drawing from his experience in leadership at a small family business, Nicholas understands the importance of vigilantly managing cost structures — and he brings that same discipline to his vision for Union Township’s schools. He is committed to fully funding the classrooms, teachers, and programs our students deserve while keeping a sharp eye on spending that doesn’t serve them. Whether it’s controlling transportation costs, scrutinizing healthcare spending in staff contracts, or ensuring every tax dollar reaches the students it’s meant for, Nick will fight for a district that is both excellent and accountable. This is about delivering the responsive, community-centered governance Union deserves — not divisive politics.
Priorities:
- Fully Funding Our Schools: Nick believes every student deserves access to quality resources — from up-to-date textbooks and technology to well-maintained facilities. He will fight to protect and maximize the district’s funding so that cuts never come at the expense of the classroom.
- Student Mental Health & Wellness: The challenges facing young people today are real. Nick will advocate for expanding counselors, social workers, and wellness programs so every student has the support they need to thrive — academically and personally.
- Supporting Teachers: Great schools start with great educators. Nick will champion competitive teacher pay, professional development, and working conditions that attract and retain the talented staff our students deserve. This includes scrutinizing rising healthcare costs in staff contracts to ensure taxpayer dollars are spent efficiently without shortchanging the people who educate our children.
- Reducing Transportation Costs: District transportation is one of the largest budget line items in any school district. Nick will push for smarter routing, explore shared-service agreements with neighboring districts, and pursue state and federal grants to reduce costs for taxpayers without impacting student safety or access.
- Safe & Inclusive Schools: Every child deserves to feel safe and welcome. Nick will support age-appropriate safety measures, strong anti-bullying programs, and a school environment where all students — regardless of background — can learn and grow.
- Expanding Opportunity: Nick will advocate for robust vocational, career, and college-prep pathways so that every student — whether headed to a four-year university or a skilled trade — graduates ready for the future.
- Transparency & Community Voice: Nick believes the board should be accountable to families, not the other way around. He will prioritize open communication, accessible meetings, and genuine parent and community engagement in district decisions.
